Sharon delights in finding just the right words to express what she learns while studying the Gospel and serving in the Church, and loves sharing her insights with others. Ten of her poems Her poems have been published in the Ensign and others have appeared in BYU Studies, The Friend, New Era, Utah Sings, Poetry Panorama, and Encore (published by the National Federation of State Poetry Societies). She has received many state and national awards for her poems and is the author of Praising the Prophet: Joseph Smith and the Restoration in History and Verse and The Glory of the Son—Poetic Insights: Jesus Christ and God’s Great Plan of Happiness.
Peter and Sharon were married in the Manti Temple in 1965. Five years and three babies later, Sharon graduated magna cum laude from BYU with a bachelor’s degree. They are the parents of nine children. Their posterity includes 36 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren so far.
Sharon enjoys photography and history. She has written and illustrated a series of history time line packets for home schooled children and others students of all ages (http://timelinesetc.com/lds/). Together, Sharon and Peter like to do family history and go birdwatching. They have worked to promote Constitutional principles and preserve our liberty on city, county, state and national levels. They served as missionaries at the Family History Training Center in Orem and are currently serving as ordinance workers in the Provo, Utah temple.
