Public Nominates The Book of Mormon as One of the Top "Books That Shaped America"

 The Library of Congress, in a poll originating in 2012 urged the public to name “other books that shaped America” and to tell them which of eighty-eight core books were most important to them. . . . Thousands of readers responded with their choices. The Top 40 vote-getters for “other books that shaped America” included The Book of Mormon in fourth position and a first edition copy is currently displayed in the "America Reads" exhibit in the Southwest Gallery.
